The studio is inside a communal building, and our staff cannot supervise anywhere outside the
studio space. Please stay on site during class unless your child has permission to go to the toilet on their
own, which you tell us when you register them and can change at any time.
Please arrive five to ten minutes before class starts. There is no need to warm up — we do that
together — but please come already in the right uniform, with hair in a neat low bun, ready to
start. We ask children to treat their teachers, the other children and the building with respect.
Bullying, gossip and disrupting a class are not tolerated.
Classes build week to week, so regular attendance matters — especially in the lead up to shows and performances, where one child missing affects the whole class and how quickly everybody learns the routine.
We understand that some absences cannot be avoided, but please try not to book anything that
overlaps with term-time lessons. If your child is going to miss a class, please email us in
advance.
Each class has its own uniform and footwear — what yours needs is on the classes page — and hair should be in a neat low bun. Low rather than high is a practical requirement as well as a tidy
one: a high bun gets in the way of rolls and floor work in acro. Dressing for class is a safety
requirement rather than a formality — a child who is not dressed safely for the class may not be
able to take part in it.
For safety, no jewellery or watches are worn in class apart from small stud earrings, and jumpers
and cardigans are not worn so we can check posture and alignment.
Please put anything you need to ask us in an email to contact@enchantdanceacademy.com. Teachers cannot answer questions in the few
minutes before or after a class — they are teaching, and supervising children.
Health. Dance and acro are physical activities and carry the ordinary risk of
injury that comes with them — acro in particular involves inversions, rolls, balances and
supported partner work. Please tell us in writing, before your child takes part, about any medical
condition, allergy, injury, or additional or learning need — and tell us again if anything
changes. We cannot keep a child safe around something we have not been told about. What we do with
what you tell us is set out in the privacy notice.
We may ask a child to sit out or leave a class where their behaviour puts themselves or another
child at risk. We may also suspend or end a place where these terms are repeatedly broken, where
fees are unpaid, or where behaviour puts the safety or wellbeing of the studio at risk. Where we
do, fees already paid for that term are not refunded. Nothing in this affects rights the law gives
you beyond it.
